Here are some tips for getting started with mobile video:
- Let’s start with the most obvious: Create video content! It sounds simple and, by and large it is, but creating good video content does require some planning up front. Video creation should be an important element of your content strategy process.
- Moving on to the slightly more intricate: Create mobile-specific content. Naturally, your brand will create many different types of content and it’s wise to do so. Try to focus some effort on creating video content that is specifically designed for mobile — whether it’s a live stream or a 15 second Instagram story.
- And finally: Optimize for viewability. Surprise! Video looks different on mobile and a lot of times it’s more difficult for users to maintain control (think: persistent banners that block half the video and are impossible to close without accidentally clicking the ad.) Make sure your video landing pages are optimized with mobile viewability in mind.
